We’re proud to announce that Christian Siding has just added Metal Panel Fabrication to our services. These services shall include: metal panels, panel installation, panel fabrications, ACM, HPL & MCM systems and estimates. Metal fabrication is the creation of metal structures by cutting, bending and assembling processes.

With brands like Reynobond and Trespa we can assure you that the job will leave you beyond satisfied, as well as be an architectural statement that is meant to last and eager to start your next project.

Looking for a specific type of fabrication? No, problem! Our services now include;

  • Metal Composite Material (MCM) – This system utilizes multiple metal materials such as; steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, copper, and zinc. It’s a great for its aesthetic appeal giving the panels apparency in their sleek designs and modern finishes. This material is also very practical because it has excellent resilience, it’s easily maintainable, provides great functionality and has longevity.
  • Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) – As opposed to an MCM panel that uses multiple metals an ACM uses aluminum only. SInce this system utilizes aluminum only it makes the panels a lot lighter giving them the ability to be more aerodynamic in their design application. You would use these panels to create custom designs with dramatic curves, sharp corners and angles, and unique figures or trapezoidal shapes.
  • High Pressure Laminates (HPL) – A High Pressure Laminate system differs from an ACM and MCM system because of the high material density gives HPL systems a flat and monolithic appearance. It’s granular finishes lend it a metallic and even anodized look. All HPL system installations require a rainscreen for ventilation to prevent sealants, which can lead to interior gasket failures. They offer the best color consistency, endurance, ranking flatness and better panel module.

Now that we offer metal panel fabrication, we can shorten project lead times significantly.

Here at Christian Siding we take care of all of these system’s services, designs, installations and more. By bringing metal panel fabrication in house we can now significantly shorten the lead time of our projects.

One of our project managers would be more than delighted to assist you in incorporating metal panel fabrication into your building, and it all starts with a free consultation.

When needs arise, the innovative step forward and supply the solution. In this case aluminum composite materials – especially composite panels – have become the new gold standard.

Composite panels provide a plethora of benefits

Composite panels compared to traditional options, provide a plethora of benefits. These include being lightweight, high insulation values, as well as versatility with use and application.

Composite panels are manufactured as a single unit, allowing for a reduction in labor cost and project completion time. In addition to saving benefits, ACM panels show increased durability, high load performance, increased insulation performance, and decreased size and thickness.

Increased flexibility in design from composite materials

The composite siding is created in a highly technical process in which two sheets of coil-coated or brushed aluminum are fusion bonded together. The result is a highly corrosion-resistant and rigid-yet-flexible material. The product ends weighing 3.4 times less than steel and 1.6 times less than pure aluminum. To add, composite panels are unique because they allow architects and designers freedom and flexibility in their design. Since the panels have extreme form-ability, they can be customized in a multitude of ways.

These panels are aesthetically pleasing and have an array of options; including a number of profiles, textures, finishes, coatings, paintings, and more.

The demand for ACM panels has lead Christian Siding to become a leading specialist in the fabrication of ACM metal panels and their installation. Comprised of some of ethical and forward thinking individuals, Christian Siding has built a team of project managers that provide second-to-none professionalism. Their expertise in value engineering and project estimation allows them to handle any project large or small.

Have you ever noticed that your windows are becoming more difficult to operate? Do you feel a draft coming from them even when they’re closed? These problems can be due to a few things depending on the materials of your window. And what you probably aren’t noticing initially is that they’re costing you some serious coin over time.

Christian Siding Project - Wood Trim

If the windows feeling drafty there could be a number of reasons; seal failure, warping, age, etc… Drafty windows do not mean that the window is broken. However it is a sign that the air conditioner is cracking out extra air in an effort to keep home/rooms warmer.

Is your wooden window drafty?

Now if a window is hard to open, has trouble staying open, or can’t close, it’s not just a hassle, it’s also inviting little critters to get into places they shouldn’t be.

Let’s take a look at your average traditional wooden windows a very popular and common window. After awhile it starts to become harder and harder to close, this invites not just wear and tear on the window from the hot and sun, rainy, or snowy days, but also invites insects in – and if its a wooden window, termites in particular. Termites will eat away at the wood causing it to become weaker and weaker they tend to hollow it out making it unstable. In few cases termites will eat through the wood frames of the window and get into the interior structure of the house, making it far beyond just replacing the window. For this damage you’ll have to get a contractor to repair the structure first which would be more expensive than replacing just the windows before then.

Wooden windows aren’t the only little known expensive money vacuum

Wooden windows aren’t the only ones that can be affected by the elements of weather. Metal windows and windows that include metal gears are known for rusting significantly over short amount of years depending on where the gear or metal is located on the window. Rust on metal windows makes them more inoperable and can lead to them breaking.

Luckily Christian Siding has window services in the Manassas and greater Northern Virginia area. If you think that there may be something wrong don’t hesitate, we’re just a phone call away and it’s a free consultation.

Hurricane Florence is approaching Northern Virginia and the DMV fast. Here at Christian Siding we asked our technicians to give us some quick and easy tips to protect your home from the hurricane. Being proactive with your home’s protection is ideal. You will be able to save yourself from some damage that can be caused by the storm.

Protect Your Home From the Hurricane

  • Secure any loose objects outside your home. Loose objects such as a grill can slide around your deck or patio during the storm and cause damage. It is a good first step to secure all of these objects.
  • Protect your home from flooding if possible. If you can try to set up a barrier to protect your house from flooding (sandbags often make a good barrier if stacked at least 2 feet high). If you cannot set up a barrier for your house then remember to unplug electronics to prevent a potential electrical surge.
  • Take pictures before the storm, you want to have pictures of your roof, siding, and windows before the storm so that after you can submit them with insurance claims to prove storm damage.
  • Guard your windows and doors. Boarding up your windows with storm shudders can reduce the likelihood of them shattering significantly.
  • Inspect your roof before the storm to ensure the shingles aren’t loose. If they are your best option would be to use roofinreplacing roofg cement to seal them and to call us after the storm to check on them and possibly provide any repairs.
  • Trim your trees. One of the most common calls we receive after any storm is roof and siding damage due to tree branches hitting your house. Be sure to trim your trees before the storm hits to lower the likelihood of damage.

As always feel free to call us with any questions! 571-402-5627

Hail damage getting you down? Has the past hail storm damaged your roof? Don’t leave your roof damaged. And don’t pay out of pocket for hail damage repairs. Instead use your house insurance to pay for the replacement of your roof! If your house has been damaged from hail contact us today!

Hail Damage Repairs For You

Trust your local northern Virginia contractor to come repair your roof after a hail storm! We offer roofing replacements as well as assistance with insurance claims. Let us do the hard work and provide you with a new roof! Here are the top three reasons not to wait and to claim damage as soon as possible!

Top Three Reasons You Shouldn’t Ignore Storm Damage

1. Waiting to claim damage on housing insurance can cause you to accidentally miss the deadline. Inspectors can tell when storm damage is new or old based on the condition of the damage. Reporting your storm damage as soon as possible is best for claiming it on your insurance.

2. Repairing your roof on your own is difficult and can be expensive, but so is paying for a new roof out of pocket. By filing and insurance claim you are saving money on a needed home repair.

3. Leaving your roof damaged can cause the granules to come off exposing the asphalt layer. The sun can dry out these exposed spots and make them brittle, so when the cold air returns they’d be susceptible to cracking. This can lead to leaks and holes in your roof.

Contact us today to replace your roof! We offer step by step support in filing an insurance claim, and we make replacing your roof an easy task. Our expert team of roofing contractors can offer you safe and speedy roofing installation in the northern Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. area.

Replacing Siding Before Selling Can Increase a Home’s Resale Value and Buyer Appeal

Before listing a home for sale, it’s always a good idea to have an experienced real estate agent take a look and make suggestions for improvements, repairs, and upgrades that should be made before listing. Often times, these upgrades and repairs not only improve the value of the home, but make it more appealing to prospective buyers as well. Many homeowners are surprised to learn that replacing existing siding can drastically improve a home’s resale value, allowing for an excellent return on investment and a faster sale.

Signs It’s Time for Siding Replacement

Christian Siding - Siding ReplacementKnowing when it’s time to replace siding isn’t easy for everyone, as damage and worn siding isn’t often obvious. Calling a siding company out to assess a home’s existing siding is the best way to get an informed opinion and recommendation, especially for homeowners who aren’t sure when their siding was originally installed. Still, there are some common telltale signs that may indicate the need for siding repair or total replacement.

Warping or Rotting

Depending on the type of siding on a home, extensive damage may be visible in the form of warping or rotting siding. For homes with vinyl or aluminum siding, warping will be the most obvious sign. Usually, the best way to spot warped siding is to view the home from afar during broad daylight. Sections of siding that appear “wavy” or “bumpy” are likely warped and need replaced.

Rotted siding is a serious problem that affects wood siding because, if left untreated, it can result in damage spreading to a home’s framing – and most buyers aren’t looking for a fixer-upper.

Cracks and Chipping

Siding damage can also be visible in the form of cracked or chipped siding, which is most common in fiber cement siding. That’s because fiber cement, while one of the most durable siding materials available, does not have the flexibility of vinyl or aluminum siding. Therefore, it tends to crack under pressure. These cracks can unfortunately allow moisture and debris to seep into the home.

Evidence of Mold or Mildew

Finally, any evidence of mold or mildew could indicate the need for total siding replacement or extensive repair. Generally, mold or mildew will be easily visible as splotches or dark spots on the siding.

Benefits of Replacing Old Siding

For homeowners contemplating a siding replacement project before listing their home, there are many benefits to doing so that can add value and appeal to today’s discerning buyers.

Improve Energy Efficiency

For starters, new siding is much more energy efficient than old and damaged siding, making it a great way to lower energy costs for future buyers. This is a huge appeal because energy costs are often increasing, making energy efficiency an important factor for many of today’s new home buyers.

Boost Curb Appeal

There’s no denying the importance of curb appeal when it comes to selling a home. Even a house that’s beautiful on the inside isn’t likely to see much interest from buyers if it doesn’t have a pleasant exterior appearance. One of the best ways to give a home an exterior makeover is to replace its siding. Depending on the color, style, and type of siding chosen, it’s possible to refresh the entire look of a home with this type of project. And with increased curb appeal, more prospective buyers will be likely to come tour the home.

Protect a Home From Damage

Last but certainly not least, new siding protects a home from all kinds of damage that could affect its value. Old and damaged siding is prone to leaks, which can cause water damage and rotting. These are issues that no new homeowner will want to expose themselves to. By being able to advertise that a home has new siding, home sellers are at an immediate advantage over other homes on the market.

While replacing siding may seem like a large undertaking for those about to sell a home, it’s important to realize that the return on investment for such a project is high. By adding curb appeal, protecting the home from future damage, and increasing energy efficiency, new siding can add appeal and value to a home about to hit the market. Those interested in siding replacement should contact a reputable siding company for an estimate.

As the summer rolls in many homeowners are trying to bug proof their homes and begin their preparations for mosquito hordes, summer heat, and increased outdoor activity. These activities may include fixing up decks or windows, pest control services, or setting up curtains and blinds to protect your home from the outside heat. Replacing rotten wood is an important and often overlooked chore to many.

Rotten wood is often repainted and ignored until it becomes a large problem or an eyesore. During the summer months increased pest populations will lead to more termites and wood bugs to feast on your wood and help it rot faster, and thanks to the increase heat and precipitation your exposed wood will continuously expand and shrink.

What Should You Not Do to Your Rotten Wood?

Why Should I Replace Instead of Repair Rotten Wood?

  • Repairing rotten wood is a temporary solution to a long term problem.
  • Replacing rotten wood would allow a fresh start.
    • Invest in PVC wrap or other forms of rotten wood replacement. Our technicians can explain to you the benefits and draw backs of each!
  • Rotten wood houses fungus and is not only a health hazard but spreads to other woods.
  • Rotten wood damages the integrity of your home.
  • Replacing rotten wood will save you from painting.
